N&V ACCOUNTING& TAX SERVICES

Accounting and tax services, under one roof

N&V Accounting & Tax Services provides seven accounting and tax services from one CA(SA)-led practice, for clients in all provinces of South Africa: bookkeeping, annual financial statements and management accounts, VAT and payroll (EMP) submissions, business tax, personal tax, CIPC company registrations, and deceased estate administration support. Most clients combine two or three, and one team handles the SARS and CIPC calendar end to end.

You deal with the directors, not a call centre

Every engagement is run by the two directors whose names are on the practice: Nirvash R Maharaj CA(SA), a tax practitioner who completed his articles at Grant Thornton in Umhlanga, and Veerasha Maharaj, an accountant with a BCom in Business Management. You won't be passed to a new junior every year.

We name the SARS form, the deadline and what happens if it's missed, in plain language. If something needs your decision, we explain the options and the cost of each before you choose.

Frequently asked questions

There is no regulated fee scale for accountants in South Africa. Cost depends on how many transactions you have each month, the number of people on payroll, whether you're VAT-registered, the state of your records and whether you need annual financial statements. Ask for a written, fixed-scope quote before you commit.

Yes. Some clients only need their personal tax return each year; others hand over the full set of books, VAT, payroll and year-end work. We quote for the services you actually use. If you add one later, such as VAT when you pass the threshold, we update the quote first so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Yes. We serve clients in all provinces of South Africa. We're based in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, and meet local clients across Durban, La Lucia, Durban North and Ballito in person. Because the work runs on cloud accounting software and SARS eFiling, distance isn't a barrier, and clients anywhere in the country can work with us entirely online.

The quality depends on who does the work, not where they sit. What matters is whether a qualified, registered professional reviews your books and signs off your returns. We work in the cloud like an online firm, but you deal directly with a CA(SA) who knows your business and can meet you in person when a decision needs a proper conversation.

No. N&V is not a registered audit firm, so we don't sign audit opinions. Most owner-managed private companies don't need an audit; they need well-prepared annual financial statements, and sometimes an independent review. If your company does need an audit, we prepare the statements and work alongside a registered auditor.
